Darrin Lee Long, Director, UK Operations

Darrin Lee Long joined GEXSI in November 2010.  Prior to relocating to Berlin in late 2009, Darrin enjoyed a diverse professional career in the UK and Australia.  He worked in north-eastern Australia as a consulting archaeologist from 1991-1995, where he collaborated with local and Australian Aboriginal communities to assess, map and express diverse cultural heritages and landscapes.  During this period, Darrin also trained Aboriginal rangers in cultural heritage conservation and tourism management. 

From 2000-2009, and after completing post-graduate qualifications in the UK, Darrin worked in a range of senior client-facing positions in the recruitment industry.  Here, he managed a range of successful recruitment projects for HM Government and a number of blue-chip companies. 

A graduate of James Cook University’s School of Arts and Social Sciences, Darrin also possesses both a Master’s in archaeological heritage management and museums and a PhD in archaeology from Cambridge University.

Darrin’s current responsibilities at GEXSI include overseeing the development of the FundFinder project, and working on key projects allied to the BoP Fund.
