GEXSI awarded SIDA grant

London, United Kingdom - 15th February 2012 - GEXSI’s nutrition start-up enterprise, elimentaire sarl, was awarded a 20,000€ grant to develop BoP market strategies.  The financial support is part of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency’s “Innovations Against Poverty” Programme (SIDA-IAP).

GEXSI CEO Dr. Andreas Renner, who acts as the interim managing director of elimentaire said, “We are proud to have received this support by the renowned SIDA agency. This grant demonstrates that we are on the right track in transforming an agri-business into a social enterprise that is helping to tackle a major global challenge: malnutrition.”

Elimentaire produces a naturally grown food additive derived the crushed leaf powder of the Moringa tree on its pilot site in Madagascar.  Moringa leaf powder that is rich of proteins and Vitamin A - two nutritional components that are crucial in combating malnutrition in Madagascar among babies and young children.
